Introduction

X-DATA emotions is our new NFT collection, based on dataviz, in which science and data meet digital art. A total of 7 NFTs where, thanks to a brain mapping, we can visualize how the human brain reacts when feeling different emotions, such as: Happiness, Fear, Surprise, Anger, Disgust and Sadness

Inspiration

Our brain, is an unexplored gold mine. Our memory not only regulates our interactions with the world around us, but also, it deeply influences the way we connect with other beings.

Understanding and comprehending our emotions and its function in the brain, lead us to realize how incredibly outstanding human intelligence can be. This helps us in finding answers to give survival a meaning, but above all, this helps us to seek reasons to achieve a better and bigger personal development, get closer to self-knowledge and to comprehend why we act in certain ways, when facing different situations.

Observing and analyzing the brain is undoubtedly the first step to íntrospection.

The Brain

Positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, have proved that some emotions are more likely to show activity in different parts of the limbic system.

Fear

Feeling fear activates the bilateral amygdala, the hypothalamus, and areas of the left frontal cortex.

Surprise

Surprise activates the bilateral inferior frontal gyrus and the bilateral hippocampus

Anger

Anger is associated with activation of the right hippocampus, the amygdala, both sides of the prefrontal cortex, and the insular cortex.

Disgust

Disgust activates the left amygdala, the left inferior frontal cortex, and the insular cortex.

Sadness

Sadness activates particular parts of the brain such as the right occipital lobe, left insula, left thalamus, amygdala, and hippocampus.

Happiness

Many parts of the brain are activated when we feel happy: the right frontal cortex, the precuneus, the left amygdala, and the left insula.
